Military-Friendly Online Colleges & Universities

Being in the military is a job like no other, but for many servicemembers, it’s not their last. Veterans and active duty personnel often return to school to prepare for another career, and finding an online college that’s military-friendly can make the transition far easier. There are many resources for veteran students, however the awareness of these resources could use some improvement.

Alumni Spotlight: Jackie Conyers

Jackie Conyers had always known she wanted to help people and give back to her community. It was this motivation that led her to work as a cosmetologist at the Victory House Nursing Home. Although she was employed as a cosmetologist, she found herself helping her clients with other matters outside of that realm.

Extended Campus Site Spotlight: Lowcountry

The Limestone College Extended Campus site in the Lowcountry has been serving students since 1989. The Lowcountry site is unique in that it meets at Yemassee Baptist Church in Yemassee, South Carolina. The town of Yemassee was chosen as the site location because of its central location in the Lowcountry.

Area Coordinator Spotlight: Ron Taylor

The Lowcountry Extended Campus site may be the smallest, but it is rich in history and character mainly due to one man: Ron Taylor. Ron is the Lowcountry Area Coordinator and has been with Limestone, in one capacity or another, since 1988. After 30 years in the U.S. Navy, Ron retired as Senior Chief Operations Specialist in 1987.
